Multi Tenant Cloudfront Distribution Pricing for Removed/Disabled Tenants

0

Hello, I am making a web app that users can host thier static htmls with their custom domains. I was looking at Cloudfront Multi Tenant Distributions and was wondering 2 things: 1-If tenant is deactivated, do you still get charged for it? if so how much? 2-If tenant is created and then immediately removed, do you still get charged? or how much do you get charged? (Assume I have over 200 tenants)

Based on the available information, CloudFront SaaS Manager charges you based on the number of Distribution Tenant resources you create. Distribution Tenants are resources that inherit configuration settings from a CloudFront Distribution while allowing for tenant-specific customizations.

Regarding your specific questions:

  1. The documentation doesn't explicitly state whether you're charged for deactivated tenants. Since pricing is based on the number of Distribution Tenant resources created rather than their active status, it's likely you would still incur charges for deactivated tenants as long as the resource exists.

  2. For tenants that are created and then immediately removed, the documentation doesn't specify if there's a minimum billing period or prorated charges. The pricing model appears to be based on the creation of the Distribution Tenant resource, but there's no clear information about how removal affects billing.

Given that you're planning to manage over 200 tenants, I would recommend contacting AWS directly for specific pricing details regarding tenant lifecycle management, as the public documentation doesn't provide this level of detail about the billing implications of tenant deactivation or removal.
