redshift 인스턴스 타입 변경으로 인한 크레딧 문의

안녕하세요. 아래 메일 내용에 따라 인스턴스 타입을 dc2.large에서 ra3.large로 업그레이드를 진행했습니다. 그런데 몇달이 지나도록 크레딧을 받지 못하고 있습니다. 메일에 기재된 링크에 들어가도 회의에 초대받지 못하고 계속 대기만 하고 있습니다. 지난 답변에서 계약된 파트너사에 문의해보라고 하셨는데 파트너사에서도 aws측에 연락이 닿지 않고 있다고 합니다. 빠르게 해결 가능한 방법 안내 부탁드리겠습니다. 감사합니다.

Latest announcement below on DC2 Deprecation includes further clarity on credits and migration guidance.

Amazon Redshift Dense Compute (DC2) nodes will reach end-of-life on April 24, 2026. We recommend upgrading your Amazon Redshift DC2 clusters to Amazon Redshift RA3 or Amazon Redshift Serverless to access the latest benefits and innovations of Amazon Redshift Managed Storage (RMS), including independent compute and storage scaling, data sharing, write operations for concurrency scaling, Zero-ETL, and Multi-AZ capabilities.

As stated in the original announcement, you will no longer be able to create new clusters, resize existing ones, or add nodes to current Amazon Redshift DC2 clusters after May 15, 2025. While existing clusters will continue to receive critical updates until April 24, 2026, no new features will be added after May 15, 2025. Upgrading to Amazon Redshift RA3 requires no changes to your infrastructure and includes credits to offset any additional costs compared to your current Amazon Redshift DC2 spend. Alternatively, Redshift Serverless offers enhanced user experience with pay-as-you-go pricing; however, upgrades from DC2 instances to Redshift Serverless are not eligible for credits and your upstream applications may need to be updated with the new Redshift Serverless workgroups. Any remaining DC2 clusters after end-of-life date will be automatically converted to Amazon Redshift RA3 during maintenance windows within 90 days after that date. We recommend performing a cross-instance resize to Amazon Redshift RA3 or triggering a cluster snapshot and restore to Amazon Redshift Serverless at your earliest convenience.

• How do I migrate to Amazon Redshift Serverless or Amazon Redshift RA3? You can restore from a snapshot to Amazon Redshift Serverless or perform a cross-instance resize to upgrade to Amazon Redshift RA3. See table here [4] for the mapping between Amazon Redshift DC2 and Amazon Redshift RA3. Upgrading your Amazon Redshift DC2 clusters yourself before April 24, 2026 provides you with higher control over the time of migration, cluster configuration and the migration process. The earlier you migrate, the sooner you will be able to take advantage of all the additional features of RA3 at the same price as DC2, given that you follow the migration sizing guide. For additional information on how to upgrade, see the Amazon Redshift Serverless [3] or Amazon Redshift RA3 [4] documentation.

• How do the credits for upgrading to Amazon Redshift RA3 work? Starting May 1, 2025, we will offer monthly credits to customers upgrading to Amazon Redshift RA3 to offset any incremental compute costs compared to the baseline costs which is the average of your monthly DC2 compute costs in the months of January, February & March 2025. These credits will continue for as long as you maintain your upgraded Amazon Redshift RA3 cluster, and they'll be automatically applied to your AWS account in the billing cycle following your upgrade. The credit amount will be based on the recommended upgrade path to Amazon Redshift RA3 detailed in the table here [4]. These adjustments will appear as a separate line item in your Amazon Redshift invoice and will start the month after you perform the upgrade to Amazon Redshift RA3. Note that if you own Amazon Redshift DC2 Reserved Instances, you must cancel your DC2 Reserved Instances and repurchase equivalent Amazon Redshift RA3 Reserved Instances in addition to also upgrading the DC2 cluster to RA3 cluster to be eligible for credits.

• What will happen on the auto-upgrade date of April 24, 2026? Beginning April 24, 2026, we will start upgrading your Amazon Redshift DC2 clusters to price-performance equivalent Amazon Redshift RA3 clusters over a 90-day period. Please note that the auto-migration duration may exceed the standard 30-minute maintenance window, depending on your source cluster's data volume.

• What happens to my Amazon Redshift DC2 Reserved Instances (RIs) during and after the end-of-life period? Your existing Amazon Redshift DC2 RIs will be honored until the auto-upgrade date of April 24, 2026, after which they will be automatically upgraded to price-equivalent Amazon Redshift RA3 RIs. Beginning April 23, 2025, you will not be able to purchase new Amazon Redshift DC2 RIs or extend existing ones. Also, we will allow customers to cancel their existing Amazon Redshift DC2 RI only if the expiration date is past the auto-upgrade date of April 24, 2026. If the expiration date of your RI is before that, please upgrade your Amazon Redshift cluster and RI to Amazon Redshift RA3 when the RI expires.

• Are there tools to evaluate the performance of Amazon Redshift Serverless before upgrade? Yes. The Amazon Redshift Service Team has developed the Amazon Redshift Test Drive [6] to conduct a what-if analysis and evaluate how your workload performs in different scenarios.
