S3 bucket replication with Object lock. "Contact support"

0

I simply want to replicate an S3 bucket with object lock to another region. When I try it says to "Contact Support" and has a link to the support page.

How do I properly contact support for THIS specific issue???

"If the source bucket has S3 Object Lock enabled, the destination buckets must also have S3 Object Lock enabled.

For more information, see Using S3 Object Lock. To enable replication on a bucket that has Object Lock enabled, contact AWS Support." https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/latest/userguide/replication.html

You can NOT open a tech support ticket with Basic Support plan. I don't really need more than that. So I select "Limit Increase" as its the only option available with a basic support account. The only options under S3 are:

Bucket Limit

MultiRegion Access points

NEITHER are for replication of object locked buckets. I wrote my issue in the description, and of course the ticket was closed without them reading the description! Only saying the limit is already set to more than what I needed.

Hello,

I understand you are having difficulty contacting support about replication on a bucket that has object lock enabled with only a basic support plan.

Possibly try opening a general question account and billing support ticket:

  • Select "General Info and Getting Started"
  • Using AWS & Services
  • General Question

I hope that helps get you in contact with the correct support team.

  • I have done exactly this, and they keep stating that they are unable to assist me. We have to enable premium support according to them. This make does not make any sense as this is an action that cannot be completed by us. We are being directed to contact Support, and without paying, we cannot enable this function. Please let me know if you have any other options.
