Network performance on instance m5dn.8xlarge - Isn't it 25 Gigabit ?

0

Hello everyone!!

Well, when choosing an instance I optioned to deploy m5dn.8xlarge because of 25 Gigabit Network Performance. https://ibb.co/930jN6V

The instance is running on N.Virginia / Ubuntu 18.04 / ENA: Yes

I did an IPERF test to check the real network performanc on this instance I've choosen, as this tutorial shows: https://aws.amazon.com/premiumsupport/knowledge-center/network-throughput-benchmark-linux-ec2/

To be sure, both are same instance ( m5dn.8xlarge ), running on N.Virginia and Ubuntu 18.04, ENA: Yes, as mentioned before.

For my surprise when running IPERF, I just got 10 Gigabit/s. I believed I could get 25 Gigabit/s on this instance.

Here is my screen to show you the results:

My question is: Isn't m5dn.8xlarge network performance 25 Gigabit? Or maybe I've done something wrong?

ps: I made this IPERF test on instance m5n.8xlarge, and I got the same 10 Gigabit/s.

Hope to hear from the community! Thank you :)
