Monthly billing statement + invoice

0

Every start of the month we get 2 emails:
AWS Billing Statement Available and
AWS Invoice Available

The invoice has attached the pdf with the cost of the previous month.
But the "Billing Statement" seems to have the spending from the beginning of the current month in the body of the email. This has us a bit baffled as we not quite sure why we get that email too. We are more than happy of just the invoice of the previous month and done.

Why do we get a "Billing Statement"? and what is it?

Hi Aaron,

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, and can see it might be misleading in having different emails sent regarding your AWS bills.

The AWS invoice is a summary of finalized charges for the previous month's activity. Your AWS bill is finalized around at the beginning of each new month. This is usually between the third and the fifth day of the month. The charges shown on the .PDF do not include any additional usage charges accrued during the statement period. One-time fees and subscription charges are assessed separately, on the date that they occur.

The monthly billing statement may include subscriptions which get processed at the beginning of the month, items like AWS Marketplace fees or Reserved Instances.

I hope this makes sense, but if you any have more questions or concerns create a case in the Support Center, so we can take a closer look at your account:
