AWS Outposts can support deploying Oracle FlexCube core banking applications. Outposts is a fully managed service that brings AWS infrastructure and services to your on-premises environment, making it well-suited for banking applications with strict data residency requirements, ultra-low latency needs, or regulatory constraints.
For Oracle FlexCube deployment on Outposts, you would have access to the core services needed:
Compute and Database: Outposts supports Amazon EC2 instances for running application servers and Amazon RDS for Oracle for your database tier. RDS for Oracle on Outposts provides a fully managed database experience with automated backups, patching, point-in-time recovery, and encryption at rest. It supports Oracle Database 19c and 21c Enterprise Edition and Standard Edition 2 using the Bring Your Own License (BYOL) model.
High Availability: Multi-AZ deployments are supported across two different Outposts racks for automatic failover and business continuity. For disaster recovery, you can restore database instances in the parent AWS Region using snapshots or set up replica instances in different Outpost racks.
Additional Services: Outposts also provides Application Load Balancers, Amazon EBS for storage, Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, and other services that may be needed for a complete FlexCube deployment.
The hybrid cloud architecture allows seamless connection to nearby AWS Regions while keeping your core banking data on-premises to meet regulatory and data residency requirements that are common in the banking sector.
