Disable desk phone option in Amazon Connect Agent Workspace


Within Amazon Connect's Agent Workspace, it is possible for the agent to modify their Phone type (see https://docs.aws.amazon.com/connect/latest/adminguide/audio-device-settings.html)

In user security profiles you can stop agents modifying the Audio Devices, however there doesn't appear to be a way to stop agents from activating an arbitrary number as their desk phone.

Is there any way to prevent agents from being able to change their phone type to a Desk Phone?

As a work-around, may look to attach a lambda to the agent event stream to update the user settings through the API if they have changed the setting to include a Sip Address...
