MotionSet appears not to update after it is saved

0

I'll keep this simple. I'm working on an animgraph (along with the GSG tutorials on YouTube). I have my motionset already created. I added another motion to the set and saved the set. The motionset is selected for the animgraph in the animgraph window. See first screenshot: white arrows show the new motion within the motionset (bigger white arrow) and also the motionset chosen for the animgraph (bottom right arrow).

The red arrow is where my issue comes up. When I click "select motions", I get a list of motions from the motionset, but it is outdated. The list does not contain the new animation "malcom_standing_jump_up". I confirmed that the motionset was saved by saving it again, and also by using "save as". It still does not update this list of motions to choose from for the node in the animgraph. See second screenshot for list missing the new "malcom_standing_jump_up" animation:

Only by reloading the entire editor does it seem to recognize the change made to the motionset. This is annoying as it is much more time consuming... and it has happened for the previous animations I added as well ("malcom_idle_anim", "malcom_walking_anim", and "malcom_running_anim").

Thanks for any help!

Also - just to double check, you are adding the new motions on the Motion Sets tab, and NOT on the Motions tab? When you add new motions to a Motion Set, you should be on the Motion Sets tab, have your Motion Set selected at the top of the window, and then scroll down to where it says Motion Set below. Then use the blue open folder icon button to add motions to your motion set.

The Motions tab is there so that you can load motions to preview on your Actor, but it does not place those motions in your Motion Set - in order to add motions to your Motion Set, you need to be on the Motion Set tab.

Just wanted to be clear about how you are adding motions - if you're already doing this, we can continue to address your issue.

I think this was the issue. All of a sudden it started to load fine and I was wondering why. I didn't realize the motions tab doesn't load it into the currently selected motionset. Thanks :)
