Server Automatic Getting Shutdown-Reason not able to find

Hello Team, Our server is getting power off automatically, 2-3 times during 24 hours. Reasons are not able to track. When we see in the event log this is coming The process C:\Windows\system32\winlogon.exe (CompName) has initiated the power off of computer CompName on behalf of user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM for the following reason: No title for this reason could be found Reason Code: 0x500ff Shutdown Type: power off Comment:

Please help our customers are fed up because of this unwanted shutdown of the system multiple times daily

Please check the

  1. The CloudTrail Event history of the EC2 instance, follow this link https://repost.aws/knowledge-center/ec2-windows-identify-stop-reboot
  2. CloudWatch metrics of the EC2 instance during the shut down period.

The CloudTrail Event history provides a viewable, searchable, downloadable, and immutable record of the past 90 days of management events in an AWS Region. You can look up events related to the creation, modification, or deletion of resources (such as IAM users or Amazon EC2 instances) in your AWS account

Hi there.

The 0x500ff Shutdown Type: power off portion of the error message might indicate a problem in the underlying hardware. Please try to stop and then start the EC2 instance so that it is moved to a new hardware. If this doesn't solve the issue there might be some corruption in the OS and you can follow Abhishek's troubleshooting steps.
