Hello,
Due to the distributed nature of Amazon S3 and its eventual consistency model, it can take some time for changes/deletion to propagate across all AWS Regions.
To answer your question, buckets created in Amazon Lightsail works similarly to Amazon S3, once the deletion propagation complete, then you can create a new bucket with the same name if available.
Regards,
Yes you can. But if someone else will create the same bucket while it is deleted the name will be "taken". The name is unique, so when you delete the bucket it may take several minutes to synchronize the information worldwide. During this time you also may have problem creating the bucket with the same name
Thank you for your response. I have waited over 3 hours (since the deletion), but currently, when I try to create it, I still receive the error message: 'You already created bucket.'
I could only find information like you mentioned for the Amazon S3 service: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/prescriptive-guidance/latest/defining-bucket-names-data-lakes/faq.html
I wonder if Amazon Lightsail works similarly to Amazon S3? That is, can I create a new bucket with the exact same name as the one that was deleted?
