CloudFront does not show my web page with HTTPS
Hello, community.
I have a web page running on Ec2. I also have my hosted zone on Route 53. I created my AWS public SSL certificate pointing to *.mydomain.com. I added the certificate record to my hosted zone. I created a CloudFront Distribution (HTTP redirect to HTTPS), origin: Ec2 public DNS and associated the certificate here. I also created a A record on Route 53 pointing to the distribution name. When I navigate to distribution name or my domain name my web page shows without HTTPS (not secure). I cleaned the cache and nothing.
I need your help with this.
Thanks
Regards,
Hello
Please check that you have configured the SSL for the Cloudfront. How do I configure my CloudFront distribution to use an SSL/TLS certificate? .
Please verify the follwing:
- Please check CNAMES in Cloud front You need to add your own DNS inside the CDN https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonCloudFront/latest/DeveloperGuide/CNAMEs.html
- Please configure the CDN to force only with HTTPS https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonCloudFront/latest/DeveloperGuide/using-https.html
please let me know, if you have any issues
Thank You GK
Try using in command line with curl
ubuntu@server:/etc/apache2/sites-available$ curl palitest.com.do
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"><HTML><HEAD><META HTTP-EQUIV="Content-Type" CONTENT="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <TITLE>ERROR: The request could not be satisfied</TITLE> </HEAD><BODY> <H1>403 ERROR</H1> <H2>The request could not be satisfied.</H2> <HR noshade size="1px"> Bad request. We can't connect to the server for this app or website at this time. There might be too much traffic or a configuration error. Try again later, or contact the app or website owner. <BR clear="all"> If you provide content to customers through CloudFront, you can find steps to troubleshoot and help prevent this error by reviewing the CloudFront documentation. <BR clear="all"> <HR noshade size="1px"> <PRE> Generated by cloudfront (CloudFront) Request ID: P09_SPGoVP4D6AYwyAxwLIrWEgpWRVaTSyTU3DcFuVehlmf4Ri7etQ== </PRE> <ADDRESS> </ADDRESS> </BODY></HTML>ubuntu@server:/etc/apache2/sites-available$
When I connect to palitest.com.do, the certificate looks fine but it comes up with "CloudFront wasn't able to connect to the origin". So the issue isn't with CloudFront's "front-end" and your site certificate, it's with your configuration of your origin providing content.
