Account Update Issues in AWS Control Tower & Service Catalog

In the past as at earlier last month, when members of our team create a new AWS account in AWS Service Catalog using the "AWS Control Tower Account Factory" product, they were able to update the provisioned product in AWS Service Catalog with a new email address that they have updated in the Account Settings using the root account.

Starting from sometime in December this function is no longer working. Each time they want to update the product in Control Tower, it taints. On troubleshooting, I found out that the updated account email address does not reflect in Control Tower.

Any help?

Hi There

You have to login to the account as the root user to change the email address first before updating it in the Provisioned Product. Please follow these steps for updating the account email address:

  • Matt-B, your recommendation was already done. This was working before it stopped working. We have vended many accounts prior to this stopping to work.
