No, AWS Backup service is used to centrally manage and automate backups across AWS services, does not support de-duplication and compression - AWS Backup Features

As per the AWS Backup Developer Guide - S3 documentation: “Snapshots and continuous recovery points share data lineage; storage of data between snapshot and continuous recovery points is not duplicated.”
