AWS does not provide a native tool for "instant" migration of data from Amazon S3 Glacier Deep Archive to S3 Standard storage class. The S3 Glacier Deep Archive storage class is designed for long-term archival data with retrieval times of 72 hours or more, and objects stored in this class are not available for real-time access.

However, AWS does offer a solution called "Data Transfer from Amazon S3 Glacier Vaults to Amazon S3" which automates the process of transferring archives from S3 Glacier vaults to an Amazon S3 bucket where you can assign them to different storage classes, including S3 Standard. This solution tracks the progress of transfers and allows you to stop and restart transfers without needing to retransfer existing archives.

It's important to note that this solution is specifically for transferring data from the Amazon S3 Glacier service (which stores archives in vaults) to Amazon S3 buckets with various storage classes. The process is not instant as it involves retrieving the archived data first, which takes time depending on the retrieval tier.

When transferring data to S3 buckets, you can choose more appropriate storage classes based on your access needs:

  • S3 Standard for data you'll need daily
  • S3 Glacier Instant Retrieval for data you'll need quarterly but with millisecond access requirements
  • S3 Glacier Deep Archive for rarely accessed data

You can also configure S3 Lifecycle policies to automatically transition objects between storage classes based on rules you define.
