Does Amazon FSx for OpenZFS support zfs-promote functionality to allow future deleting of original parent dataset? If so, can someone help point me to the documentation.

Amazon FSx for OpenZFS does not currently support zfs-promote functionality. The documentation page for snapshots at https://docs.aws.amazon.com/fsx/latest/OpenZFSGuide/snapshots-openzfs.html lists supported snapshot operations.

FSx for OpenZFS just announced support for full-copy volumes, which enable you to remove a clone's dependency on the parent dataset.
