Domain Transfer to AWS S3 Hosting - Hosted Zone Configuration Issue

0

I recently transferred my domain from Google Sites to AWS and received confirmation emails indicating a successful transfer. Following the instructions provided in this tutorial (https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/latest/userguide/website-hosting-custom-domain-walkthrough.html), steps 2 through 10 proceeded smoothly without encountering any issues. However, upon reaching step 11, where I was supposed to select a hosted zone, I did not find any hosted zone available, despite the expectation that one would have been created automatically upon domain transfer. Consequently, I proceeded to create one manually. Subsequently, I continued with the steps and created records within the hosted zone.

Upon reaching step 12 for testing, I encountered an issue. Simply entering my domain name did not yield the expected result. However, using the bucket website endpoint generated in step 10 (http://<domain_name>.s3-website-us-west-1.amazonaws.com) worked perfectly fine.

I would greatly appreciate assistance in resolving this matter, as I suspect it may be related to name server configuration.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hi There

If you created a hosted zone, you'll need to update the NS records of the domain you transferred in.

First, get the name server values for you hosted zone by following these instructions

Next, update the domain with the new name servers by following these instructions

It could take some time for these changes to propagate, up to 24 hours.
