Dynamic routes advertised from a virtual router appliance to TGW

0

Dear Team - As per, https://www.amazonaws.cn/en/transit-gateway/faqs/

Number of Transit Gateway connect peers (GRE tunnels) per Transit Gateway Connect attachment = 4
Dynamic routes advertised from a virtual router appliance to a Transit Gateway Connect peer = 1000

  1. which means, we can advertised up to 4000 routes in total from a virtual router appliance (Be it on-prem or VPC) to a Transit Gateway peers. Is this correct statement ?

  2. If yes, then if i have 2000 routes on-prem, can i distributes first 1000 routes on first two GRE Tunnel and another 1000 routes on rest of two GRE tunnel ? this is for redundancy purpose.

  3. same apply to below as well ? Routes advertised from a Transit Gateway Connect peer to a virtual router appliance= 5000 so total 20,000 for 4 connect peer ?

Hi JD,

You are correct. Limit is per Peer so you can have 1000 routes per Peer . So you can have 4K routes. You can distribute routes as you mentioned in 2. Number 3 is also correct.
