The error you're encountering during the redeployment of your existing React app on AWS Amplify appears to be related to IAM role permissions. This is a common issue that can occur when the IAM role associated with your Amplify app doesn't have the necessary permissions to assume the role or access required resources.

To resolve this issue, you should:

  1. Review the IAM role associated with your Amplify app. Ensure it has the correct permissions, including AdministratorAccess and AdministratorAccess-Amplify policies.

  2. Check the trust relationship of the IAM role. It should allow the Amplify service to assume the role. You may need to update the trust policy to include both the specific regional Amplify service and the general Amplify service. The trust policy should look similar to this:

    { "Version": "2012-10-17", "Statement": [ { "Effect": "Allow", "Principal": { "Service": ["amplify.ap-south-1.amazonaws.com", "amplify.amazonaws.com"] }, "Action": "sts:AssumeRole" } ] }

  3. Verify that all AWS resources related to your app are in the same region (ap-south-1 in this case).

  4. If you've made any recent changes to your app or its configuration, review those changes to ensure they haven't inadvertently affected the IAM role or permissions.

  5. Check if there are any inline policies attached to the role that might be restricting access.

  6. Review your CloudTrail logs for any denied API calls related to AssumeRole actions.

If the issue persists after these steps, you may need to:

  • Invalidate the cache or deploy a fresh version of the app.
  • Double-check your domain and SSL configurations if you're using a custom domain.
  • Review your Amplify Hosting settings, particularly around custom domains and redirects.

If you continue to face difficulties, consider reaching out to AWS Support or posting the issue on the Amplify GitHub repository for more specific assistance.
