Performance Insights disappeared after upgrading to MySQL 8

0

I have a RDS db.t2.medium MySQL DB. I've just upgraded from MySQL 5 to MySQL 8.0.13 successfully... but then Performance Insights seem to stop working:

  • no data are being recorded anymore in the Performance Insights panel since the upgrade
  • if I go to Database -> Modify, the "Performance Insights" section is no more visible
  • column "Current activity" in the DB summary always shows 0 Sessions (but my website is running ok)

What's happened? Thank you

As written in the docs: "Amazon RDS Performance Insights is not supported for MariaDB 10.0, MariaDB 10.1, MariaDB 10.3, MySQL 5.5, or MySQL 8.0. "

Ok then, closed.

  • Hi, we are running a similar situation. We are using MySQL 8.0. When we tried to delete the database (db.m5.xlarge), it has an error message that we have to turn off Performance Insights first. However, when we clicked Modify, we can't find the Performance Insights section. How did you turn off the Performance Insights?
