Migration from RDS x86 to RDS Graviton?

0

A customer is asking what is the potential complexity of migration of databases (MySQL and PotsgreSQL) between RDS x86 to RDS Graviton. He raised endianness as one of the reasons such migration may be complex and time consuming. Do we have examples of customers who did the migration and/or procedures that partners can follow to perform such migrations / estimate related effort?

The migration is actually extremely simple. You can just change the instance type to an m6g or r6g to leverage it. You can also setup a replica from the old primary across to a new Graviton instance. The endianness is the same across the chips so there is no complexity there.
