I apologize, but I don't have any specific information about plans to include pg_parquet support for PostgreSQL on Amazon RDS from version 16 onward. Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL does support various extensions and features, but pg_parquet is not currently listed among the supported extensions.
Amazon regularly updates RDS for PostgreSQL with new features and extensions, but I don't have access to their internal roadmap or future plans. The most recent information I have shows PostgreSQL 16.4 as the latest available version on Amazon RDS, which includes updates to several extensions like hypopg, mysql_fdw, orafce, pg_cron, pgTAP, pgvector, rdkit, and wal2json.
If pg_parquet support is important for your use case, I would recommend submitting a feature request directly to AWS through their official channels. This would allow you to express your interest in this feature and potentially influence future development priorities. In the meantime, you may want to explore alternative solutions or workarounds that are currently supported within RDS for PostgreSQL.
