We have our A record putting to cloud front and we are getting hit with Bots. What do I need to look at to ensure this is working? Right now it says 0% of Bot activity but our hosting company is confirming we are being hit. Please help??

  1. Check your CloudFront distribution settings.Check if you're using the AWS Managed Rules for bot control (AWSManagedRulesBotControlRuleSet)
  2. Go to AWS WAF console and check if you have any Web ACLs associated with your CloudFront distribution. If no WAF is configured, that's likely your issue , the bots are passing through undetected
  3. Review your DNS configuration to confirm traffic is actually routing through CloudFront
  4. also Check your hosting company's logs to see the source IPs . are they coming from CloudFront or directly hitting your origin?

Should the Web ACLs be configured at the global level? That's where ours is located. We are also set at the Common level (not targeted).
