I understand you're having trouble inviting an IAM Identity Center (IDC) group to your CodeCatalyst space or project. Let me explain the process and potential reasons for this issue:
-
First, it's important to note that you cannot directly add or remove SSO users or groups in CodeCatalyst. The management of SSO users and groups must be done through IAM Identity Center.
-
To add SSO groups to a CodeCatalyst space that supports identity federation, you need to have the Space administrator role and access to the billing account for your space.
-
The process to add SSO groups to your space is as follows:
- Open the Amazon CodeCatalyst page in the AWS Management Console
- Navigate to your space
- Choose "Edit SSO"
- Select the SSO groups you want to add to your space
-
If you don't see your HCO group when trying to invite it, there could be a few reasons:
- The group may not have been properly set up in IAM Identity Center
- There might be a delay in synchronization between IAM Identity Center and CodeCatalyst (this can take up to two hours or longer in some cases)
- You may not have the necessary permissions to view or add the group
-
To resolve this, you should:
- Verify with your Identity federation administrator that the HCO group is correctly set up in IAM Identity Center
- Ensure you have the Space administrator role in CodeCatalyst
- Wait for a few hours to allow for synchronization between IAM Identity Center and CodeCatalyst
- If the issue persists, contact your Identity federation administrator or AWS support for further assistance
Remember, you cannot directly manage SSO users or groups in CodeCatalyst. All management of these entities must be done through IAM Identity Center, and CodeCatalyst will sync with IAM Identity Center periodically to update its information.
