AmazonMQ - Quorum queue - When the feature will be available in AmazonMQ

1

Hi, RabbitMQ has announced that starting from version 4.0 Classical mirrored Queues will be removed or deprecated. They suggest using Quorum queues instead of classical mirrored queues.

It will not be possible to convert classical mirrored queues to quorum queues. Furthermore, the use of quorum queues requires some revision of the codes that publish messages.

We are evaluating the possibility of moving some of our on-premise RabbitMQ clusters to AmazonMQ. However, uncertainty about the possibility of using quorum queues on AmazonMQ does not allow us to better plan the migration. It is currently possible to create quorum queues in AmazonMQ, although its use is discouraged.

Is it possible to know an expected date for the use of quorum queues in AmazonMQ?

Thank you Giorgio Prandi

Hello Giorgio Prandi,

From your query I understand that, you would like to know the possible date for the use of Quorum queues in AmazonMQ service, as at present using Quorum queues in Amazon MQ is not recommended by AWS[1].

Please be informed that, as of now it would not be possible to say an expected date or an ETA for using the Quorum queues in AmazonMQ service. Meanwhile, I request you to keep an eye on our What's New[2] and Blog pages[3] for any new feature announcements.
