Root User Sign in and password recovery Disabled

0

New user who setup a root account as well as IAM user to study for SA cert. Enabled MFA on both root and IAM user. ***Now, I am unable to login as root. *** I enter the correct email/password combination and receive an "Authentication Failed- Signing in with the root user is disabled for your account. You need to re-enable this feature. " message. I am able to log in to my IAM user however. I have tried the troubleshooting root user suggestions from the official documentation but it appears they are all disabled (password recovery, etc).

How can I regain access to my Root user for my account?

Hello.

If you can sign in with an IAM user, I recommend opening a case with AWS Support under "Account and billing".
In this case, it is a sign-in issue, so you should be able to get support by contacting "Account and billing".
Inquiries under "Account and billing" can be made free of charge.

If you are an IAM user and cannot contact AWS Support, please contact AWS from the URL below.
