Is AWS GLUE schema registry backed up?

0

As our kafka system relies heavily on the schemas inside AWS GLUE schema registry, I want to ask if AWS stores internal backups for this service? Is there a guaranty that no schemas will get lost?

Hi,

The good practice there will be store those schemas in an S3 bucket (that can be in other region or replicated to more regions depending your requirements).

  • Hi, ok we did that. So there is nothing from AWS side? If we store those schemas in S3 we always have the problem that the schema UUID of a schema will change in case of restoring. For daily read data with long retention this would cause a lot of manual effort to change all the IDs in the messages.
