How do you request item information based on sales rank in Amazon Product API?

Using the amazon product advertising API, you can retrieve sales rank and other information about an item if you use an ASIN.

Basically, I would like to use sales rank as a product identifier. What I would like to do is use a sales rank number, along with a browse node ID (whatever the root id for books in amazon AUS is), to request a list of all the top selling books.

Unfortunately, through my searching, I have not seen a way to request this information.
