I understand you're having trouble signing in with your IAM account and don't know who your administrator is. Here are several troubleshooting steps you can try:
-
Double-check your credentials: Make sure you're entering the correct account ID (or alias), username, and password. Remember that passwords are case-sensitive.
-
Verify the sign-in method: If your organization uses AWS IAM Identity Center (formerly AWS Single Sign-On), you need to use a specific access portal URL instead of the standard IAM user sign-in page. This URL typically looks like https://d-xxxxxxxxxx.awsapps.com/start.
-
Check your browser: Try clearing your browser cache and cookies, or use a different browser or an incognito/private browsing window.
-
Verify time settings: Ensure your device's date and time settings are correct, as AWS authentication is sensitive to time discrepancies.
-
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): If MFA is enabled for your account, make sure you're providing the correct MFA code when prompted.
If you don't know who your administrator is, try to:
- Check any onboarding emails you received when you were first given access to AWS
- Contact your IT department or manager who might know who manages AWS accounts
- Look for any internal documentation about AWS access in your organization
Without administrator assistance, you won't be able to reset your password or verify if your IAM user has console access enabled, which are common solutions to this problem.
