Assuming you are referring to 'Antivirus for Amazon S3 - PAYG with 30 day free trial'

1. You are able to use the container image for 30 days. When the trial ends, they offer a monthly subscription that comes with 100 GB of engine scanning. Source: Link
2. You have the ability to enable real time antivirus scans when you select the "Event" scanning model.
3. You have the ability to run the antivirus scans on demand by using the "Retro" scanning model.
4. The option to schedule periodic scans is not built directly into the AMI but assuming you decide to provision this AMI using CloudFormation, you can use the EventBridge Scheduler to schedule scanning events.
5. According to the documentation, the use of this AMI is free of charge for the duration of the free trial. However, to continue using their services, you will need to add a payment method to your account.
6. Yes, there are many other AMIs that have a concentration in antivirus. There is bucketAV by ClamAV, or Secured ClamWin Antivirus by Cognosys, just to name a few other options.
