MDE installation on RPA server loses communication with RPA clients (AAE)

0

Hi,

A Windows 2012 server has Symantec antivirus installed and a console of an RPA application (AAE). To install MDE, first we proceed to uninstall Symantec AV, to later install MDE antivirus. Once MDE is installed, we proceed to restart the server. At the time of validating the RPA application, it is identified that the RPA clients lose communication with the RPA console since in the screen does not appear.

Files names and paths suggested by the vendor (AAE) have already been added to the MDE exception list, on RPA clients and server, but the problem has not been resolved, because this issue has a couple of months trying..

We need to know how to resolve this issue, or if necessary if we can have a liability waiver to keep Symantec AV installed on this server.

We have been trying for several months different actions such as adding some exception rules in the AV MDE without success.

Can you help us please to know what’s happening?.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out, my name is Josue and I will be assisting you today.

Antivirus in the cloud can get tricky as some features can be a bit of an overkill; I have seen cases on which the AV would disable the ENI as it detected it as an intrusive resource.

I'd suggest to stick to best practices by the AV provider to ensure resources are not disrupted, Firewall is allowing the desired inbound connectivity for the ports required and is fully compatible in a cloud environment you can govern and manage accordingly. If you have official documentation you would like us to take a look we can do so as best efforts.

I hope this information is helpful. Please do let me know in case of any other question on which I can help you out. I will be happy to do so.
