How can I know my dedicated IP's (managed) are working?

0

When I select Dedicated IPs in the console it shows 0 under Managed dedicated IP addresses. I ordered 2. Initially they were allocated to the standard pool upon which I requested they be moved to the managed pool as per my initial request. I received an answer back that they were sorry for the confusion and moved them to the managed pool. The 0 worries me. I requested 2 managed IP's. Is there a configuration error somewhere? How can I be certain they are working?

When using Amazon SES dedicated IP addresses (managed), the console should display your allocated IPs. If you're seeing "0" under Managed dedicated IP addresses, this might indicate that your email-sending volume hasn't yet met the threshold required for allocation.

For managed dedicated IP addresses, Amazon SES automatically allocates IPs based on your email-sending patterns. Your first managed dedicated IP address is allocated only when your daily email-sending volume meets a certain threshold over several days. Until this happens, your managed dedicated IP pool's sending status will show as "Insufficient volume."

To verify if your managed IP pool is set up correctly:

  1. Sign in to the AWS Management Console and open the Amazon SES console
  2. In the left navigation pane, choose "Dedicated IPs"
  3. Select the "Managed IP pools" tab on the Dedicated IPs page
  4. Check the status of your managed IP pool

You can monitor your managed IP address pool's status and capacity through the Amazon SES console. If you've created a managed IP pool and associated it with a configuration set, the setup is likely correct, but you may need to increase your sending volume consistently over several days to trigger the allocation of your first managed IP address.

Remember that with managed dedicated IPs, Amazon SES handles the scaling automatically, adding and removing IP addresses based on your sending patterns and volume. The number of IPs in your pool will dynamically increase or decrease based on your sending demand.
