It's normal to not see any Free Tier services data immediately after creating a new AWS account. This doesn't mean you don't have access to the Free Tier; rather, it's likely that your account hasn't been fully activated yet or you haven't started using any services.
To fully activate your AWS account and start benefiting from the Free Tier, you need to complete a few important steps:
- Add a valid payment method to your account.
- Verify your phone number.
- Choose an AWS Support Plan.
It's important to understand that your AWS Free Tier benefits begin on the date you activate your account, not on the date you created it. Simply creating an account and entering your account and contact information is not sufficient for activation.
Once you've completed these activation steps, your AWS Free Tier should become available. The Free Tier runs for 12 months after you activate your account, giving you access to a variety of AWS services either for free or at significantly reduced costs, subject to certain usage limits.
Even after activation, it may take some time (up to 24 hours) for usage data to appear in the billing section. Additionally, Free Tier data typically shows up once you've started using eligible services like EC2 or S3.
If you've already completed these steps and are still not seeing the Free Tier information after using some services, it might be worth contacting AWS Support for further assistance.
