Not able to delete ENIs connected to RDSNetworkInterface

1

Hi, in my vpc vpc-0fbfba761554c3ffb, in eu-central-1 zone, I have below two ENIs.

eni-0f13c0314d89139d4
eni-09126edfa439517f9

We are not able to change / delete / detach these ENIs as it says they are in use and I do not have permissions. Both are shown as RDSNetworkInterfaces

From RDS side - we had deleted corresponding RDS instances but somehow these ENIs are still sitting around.

Can you help them get released / help us understand why RDS seems to be still using them?

Hello dharapvv,

I have checked the eni-0f13c0314d89139d4 and eni-09126edfa439517f9 on your AWS account in the eu-central-1 region and they in-fact belong to RDS instances that are still running. I have now shared more information about them privately.

Thanks Thomas.

Those ENIs are then required.

Our real issue was - We were not able to delete a couple of Security Groups - which were being told that those security group is still associated with these ENIs.

But today - i could delete those security groups without a issue. I do not know how this association got released automatically.

anyways - you can close this issue. Thanks for your help.
