Advice on learning how to write payload decoders for lora devices

0

I want to know how to write payload decoders to decode lora payload from end nodes. Do you have any advice or resources that can help me? So far I used ChatGPT to write a payload decoder for me and I'm asking it questions and learning concepts about javaScript on the internet based on what ChatGPT gave me to try and understand what is going on in the code.

Hi. Since this is an AWS forum, I presume you're asking in regards to AWS IoT Core for LoRaWAN and using AWS Lambda functions to perform the decoding.

You can find a collection of Node.js and Python decoders here: https://github.com/aws-samples/aws-iot-core-lorawan/tree/main/transform_binary_payload/src-payload-decoders

The Python decoders are called from this line of this Lambda function: https://github.com/aws-samples/aws-iot-core-lorawan/blob/main/transform_binary_payload/src-iotrule-transformation/app.py#L173

And the Node.js decoders are called from this line of this Lambda function: https://github.com/aws-samples/aws-iot-core-lorawan/blob/main/transform_binary_payload/src-iotrule-transformation-nodejs/index.js#L128
