emails from the AWS workmail failing due to poor reputation of domain used in message transfer

0

I'm seeing the following error when I try to send email from my workmail account. I'm not sure what to do about it. Has my account been hacked and is sending out bulk spam?

An error occurred while trying to deliver the mail to the following recipients: name@domain

Technical report:

  • This is resolved. For posterity, I entered my AWS WorkMail account > Domains > and changed Default domain from the default (namecloudmail.awsapps.com) to the domain I had registered in the service.

Can't be sure if this was a transient issues unrelated to the domain and I co-incidentally made the above change or not, but if you are having this issue, try it.

HI,

Good to hear you're issue has been resolved and your outgoing messages are no longer being marked as spam. The free awsapps.com domain is not recommend to be used in production. It's a domain that is intended for testing and is restricted in terms of volume.

Kind regards, Robin
