How to reserve capacity with Savings Plans

A customer wants to move away from Zonal RI's and go to Compute Savings Plans; However, they would still like the ability to reserve capacity as they did with Zonal RI's.

What's the recommended best practice here?

SPs don't provide capacity reservations, your best bet is On Demand Capacity Reservations, which can be coupled with regional RIs, and SPs in general: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/ec2-capacity-reservations.html
