Cost for Fedora AMI

0

Hello, I was going to use an AMI (fedora-coreos-38.20230901.20.0-aarch64/ami-0359b9b67bd184978) with the Fedora OS. Fedora has always been free. However, the console is telling me 'Additional costs apply for AMIs with pre-installed software.' I was wondering if extra charges actually apply or if it's a generic message whenever you don't choose a standard OS. Thanks.

Hello.

You can check the official AMI ID from the following URL.
Also, the owner of the AMI is "125523088429", so there should be no problem.
https://alt.fedoraproject.org/cloud/

The message 'Additional costs apply for AMIs with pre-installed software.' explains that fees are only charged when software is installed on the AMI.
The official Fedora AMI should contain nothing but the OS, so there should be no software charges.
