Repeated Rejections for AWS Activate Founders Credits – Need Guidance

0

Hello AWS Community,

I have been applying for the AWS Activate Founders Tier $1,000 credits, but my applications keep getting rejected. The response I receive is the standard automated message stating that my application does not meet AWS Activate Founders' internal requirements. The reasons mentioned include:

Valid billing and AWS account details Consistent business information Connection to accounts linked to misuse

However, I have taken steps to ensure that my billing details are valid. Our AWS billing is working correctly—we successfully used the initial $300 AWS Activate credits and have been paying for services since those credits were depleted.

I have also verified that my business details are consistent and accurate across my application. Yet, despite these efforts, my applications continue to be rejected without any clear feedback. I have tried reaching out to AWS Support but have not received a response.

Has anyone faced a similar issue, and how did you resolve it? Is there a way to get more specific feedback on what’s causing the rejection? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

I understand your frustration with the repeated rejections for AWS Activate Founders credits. While I can't provide specific details about your individual case, I can offer some general guidance based on the AWS Activate program requirements and common issues applicants face.

First, it's important to note that meeting the basic eligibility criteria doesn't guarantee approval. AWS has internal requirements that go beyond what's publicly listed. These may include factors such as the nature of your business, your company's stage of development, and your projected AWS usage.

Regarding the reasons mentioned in the rejection:

  1. Valid billing and AWS account details: While you've mentioned that your billing is working correctly, double-check that all information is up-to-date and matches your company records exactly.

  2. Consistent business information: Ensure that the information provided in your application matches what's on your company website and any public records. Even small discrepancies can lead to rejection.

  3. Connection to accounts linked to misuse: This could be triggered if your account or IP address has been associated with any previous violations of AWS terms. If you're certain this isn't the case, it might be worth checking if your internet connection has been used by others who may have violated AWS policies.

As for getting more specific feedback, unfortunately, AWS typically doesn't provide detailed reasons for rejections due to their internal policies. However, you might try the following:

  1. Review the AWS Activate eligibility criteria thoroughly to ensure you meet all requirements.

  2. If you haven't already, try reaching out to the AWS Activate team directly through their contact form, rather than general AWS Support.

  3. Consider applying for the AWS Activate Portfolio tier if you're associated with a qualifying accelerator, incubator, or venture capital firm. This tier often has a higher acceptance rate.

  4. If possible, network with other startups or attend AWS events to gain insights from those who have successfully obtained credits.

Remember, persistence is key. If you believe you qualify, continue to refine your application and reapply after addressing any potential issues. Good luck with your application!
