Can we delete Amazon SES records in Route 53

0

We have several records in Route 53 for Amazon SES (amazonses.com). However, we don't use this service and it's not set up in our organization. Is it safe to remove these entries? It seems like this service was considered at one point by someone, but never set up. We're doing some DNS cleanup, but are not sure if these are required regardless of if we use SES.

Hello.

I think there is no problem in deleting it if you are not sending emails etc. with Amazon SES.
Before deleting the record, we recommend checking the Amazon SES console and CloudWatch metrics to see if any emails are being sent.
Please note that if the record set in Route53 is deleted, it will become unusable if it is used for sending emails.

  • Thanks for this information. We don't have it set up in either of those locations. A colleague told me that a new 3rd-party service sends email on our behalf and these entries are for that domain verification.
