Created a zero-etl integration successfully between RDS aurora & RMS Redshift - but cannot create a database?

0

I have followed this guide: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/redshift/latest/mgmt/zero-etl-using.setting-up.html to establish the zero-etl integration between my RDS Aurora instance and RMS Redshift instance.

I have ensured that:

  • all of the necessary parameter groups are set for both instances as described in the guide.
  • the CMK encryption policy includes:
    "Effect": "Allow", "Principal": { "Service": "redshift.amazonaws.com" }, "Action": "kms:CreateGrant", "Resource": "*"

The zero-etl integration is currently showing as "Active" but with no database. I have tried to use the console to create a database, which automatically populates the integration ID and data warehouse name, and receive:

ERROR: Unknown arn xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxxx-xxxxxx and remote db (null) pair.

In the query editor v2 i have also tried:

SELECT integration_id from SVV_INTEGRATION; CREATE DATABASE zero_etl_test FROM INTEGRATION <result from prior query>';

as well as

CREATE DATABASE zero_etl_test FROM INTEGRATION <full_integration_arn';

and get:

ERROR: Unknown integration ARN: arn:aws:rds:us-east-2:xxxxxxxx:integration:xxxxxx-xxxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxx [ErrorId: 1-654e6a28-27b44c35438f29b152ba4159]

There are no resources pertaining to errors at this stage.

I can understand that you are following the steps mentioned in the below documentation to create the database in the Redshift:

[+] Creating destination databases in Amazon Redshift - Creating a destination database in Amazon Redshift - https://docs.aws.amazon.com/redshift/latest/mgmt/zero-etl-using.creating-db.html#zero-etl-using.create-db

Please check the most recent results from "select * from svv_integration;"

Also, I will suggest to open a support ticket with AWS Redshift Support Team for further troubleshooting of this issue.
