You can refer to AWS Cloud Development Kit (AWS CDK) GitHub page for CDK Roadmap. Go to Issues page for feature requests and status updates.
Unfortunately, there isn't a specific public roadmap page dedicated solely to the Java CDK that outlines the status and plans for L1, L2, and Alpha constructs. However, the AWS CDK project as a whole is committed to transparency and community involvement in shaping its future.
AWS is working on deepening collaboration with the community and providing more opportunities for contribution. As part of this effort, they are proposing to form a Contributor Council for CDK. This council would consist of ten members, with equal representation from AWS and the CDK community. The council plans to meet monthly to discuss project priorities, review change proposals, and provide transparency through recorded sessions.
While this doesn't directly address the Java CDK roadmap, it does indicate that AWS is moving towards more open communication about CDK development across all supported languages, including Java.
In the meantime, you can stay updated on the overall CDK development by:
- Checking the AWS CDK GitHub repository for the latest updates and discussions.
- Exploring the Construct Hub (constructs.dev) to see the current state of available constructs, including those for Java.
- Participating in CDK community discussions and forums, such as those on AWS re:Post.
- Keeping an eye on AWS blog posts and announcements related to CDK.
As the CDK project evolves, it's likely that more detailed roadmaps and status updates will become available, potentially including language-specific information for Java and other supported languages.
