AWS Managed Elastic-search 7.10 has override_main_response_version enabled

I have created Elasticsearch 6.8 version initially and recently updated with es 7.10 version. It shown override_main_response_version = true. But i have not enabled it. just wanted to know whether this is default setting from AWS managed Elasticsearch.

I tried to get the cluster setting with dev tool by using below request it's not listing below GET _cluster/settings?include_defaults=true

Are you sure it shows override_main_response_version = true in ES 7.10? Since this was introduced in Opensearch 1.0 to provide backward compatibiity for clients that look up the elasticsearch version. Setting compatibilty mode in ES7.10 fails for me in Dev Tools and there is no option to enable compatibility mode in ES7.10 cluster during creation. I tried the upgrade path you followed as well. It's actually irrevant for Elasticsearch version and is only required for Opensearch. Also it's not a setting enabled by default in Opensearch 1.x onwards
