FSx never connects

0

Hello,

I have been stuck on trying to mount FSx on ec2 instances and workspaces. Both are joined in the AWS managed active directory. The security group associated with FSx is the default wide open one. I've attempted this as the domain admin but always get network path not found. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi bank2600,

Please review this troubleshooting guide: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/fsx/latest/WindowsGuide/unable-to-access.html. It provides a list of potential causes why you may not be able to mount your FSx for Windows file system, and how you can resolve the issues.

Specifically, we recommend you make sure that the security group you’ve specified for your FSx file system has the required the inbound rules specified in Amazon VPC Security Groups: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/fsx/latest/WindowsGuide/limit-access-security-groups.html#fsx-vpc-security-groups. Also make sure your client EC2 instances and WorkSpaces instances have the required outbound rules.

Make sure that the file system DNS name and the share name are correctly specified. To manage your file shares, see Managing File Shares: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/fsx/latest/WindowsGuide/using-file-shares.html#managing-file-shares

Make sure that your VPC Network ACLs allow communication on the required network ports between your client instances and your Amazon FSx file system.

Hello,

After I added the ports in the security group associated with fsx it's now working.

Thank you
