Change OpenSearch Dashboard domain name

Question

Hi I'm new to AWS and currently using OpenSearch for log analytics. What I want to do is change the domain name. whats the path i should look to change the domain name?

Standard one is https://search-**mydomain-1a2a3a4a5a6a7a8a9a0a9a8a7a.us-east-1**.es.amazonaws.com/

cant we change it from **search** as well.i mean remove search from the URL

Like  https://"MyDomain".es.amazonaws.com/

Hi,

The domain name you have shared is the auto generated one and cannot be changed. Opensearch does allow you to specify a custom endpoint; details for which you can find [here](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/opensearch-service/latest/developerguide/customendpoint.html)

Basically you'll need to provide a new FQDN, SSL certificates and create the corresponding DNS records
