AWS Device Farm physical device: Can I upgrade chrome version from "default"?

When testing my app on an AWS Device Farm physical device via automation, is it possible to upgrade the version of chrome it comes with by default?

For example when using an Android 8 device, the default version of chrome is a few upgrades behind. It would be very useful to be able to upgrade chrome therefore to the version that current Android 8 users will be using.

If not possible on a "public" device, is this possible with a "private" one?

If it's your private device, you can install and update different apps except for system apps. Chrome being a part of the system's bundle meaning you cannot upgrade it. My suggestion would be to use a newer version Android to get the latest version of Chrome
