To change your Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA) worker nodes from Annual Subscription to On-Demand, you will need to contact the AWS Support team.
-
Open a case with AWS Support:
- Go to the AWS Support Center (https://console.aws.amazon.com/support/home)
- Choose "Create case"
- Under "Case details," select the appropriate options:
- For "Regarding," choose "Service quota increase"
- For "Case severity," choose the appropriate level based on your urgency
- For "Service," choose "Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA)"
- For "Case description," provide details about your request to change the worker node subscription from Annual to On-Demand, along with your cluster ID and AWS account ID.
-
Provide Necessary Information:
- In the case description, include the following details:
- Cluster ID
- AWS account ID
- Current subscription type (Annual Subscription)
- Desired subscription type (On-Demand)
- Reason for the change (e.g., mistaken deployment, temporary cluster)
- Any other relevant information
- In the case description, include the following details:
-
Wait for AWS Support Response:
- AWS Support will review your case and may request additional information or clarification.
- They will work with the ROSA team to facilitate the subscription change for your worker nodes.
-
Billing Update:
- Once the subscription change is processed, your billing will be updated automatically to reflect the On-Demand pricing for the worker nodes.
- You will be charged the On-Demand rate for the remaining period until you decommission the cluster.
Please note that changing the subscription type may incur additional costs or fees, as outlined in the ROSA pricing and terms. AWS Support will provide guidance on any potential charges associated with the subscription change.
