Here are a few things you can try to log back into your AppStream session after it froze without hitting the maximum login attempts error:

  • Wait some time (e.g. 15-30 mins) for the previous session to fully terminate before trying to log back in. The previous frozen session may still be shown as active for a bit before getting cleaned up.

  • Use the AppStream console or CLI to force stop the previous session if it's still hanging around and preventing login. This will fully terminate it.

  • Clear your AppStream session cookies in your browser to reset the login state.

  • Try logging in from an incognito/private browser window to ensure no old cookies are interfering.

  • If using a federated identity provider like Google, try logging in again with that same IDP to generate a fresh login session.

  • As a last resort, contact AWS support to reset the maximum failed login attempts counter if it's erroneously blocking you.

The key is making sure any stale frozen sessions are fully cleared before attempting to log in again. Give it some time and try the above suggestions to avoid the maximum attempts error.
