AWS LiveStream to Facebook Live

0

Hello,

i've been trying to setup a RTMP(s) Push to Facebook live using the default stack setup for MediaLive.
Found here https://aws.amazon.com/solutions/implementations/live-streaming-on-aws/
(I used the one without MediaStore)

Started everything up, and connected OBS to send a live stream to AWS, that works, as i can see the stream on the provided demo page.

I've added a new output for RTMP and added the Facebook rtmps url + server key as url for output 1, and a the backup stream as url 2.
When I connect OBS directly to Facebook live, the preview stream starts almost immediately, but via AWS there is no preview or eventlogs made.
I also tried setting the output settings to match FB Live info (720p etc) but still no avail.

Anyone a idea what i'm doing wrong?

Thanks in advance!

We will need a bit more information to be able to troubleshoot this issue. Either file a ticket via the Support Center (Top right corner of the MediaLive console - Support - Support Center), or direct mail me the MediaLive Channel ARN where you tested this out. Any errors being reported on the Facebook would also be appreciated.

As for how to configure a MediaLive to output to Facebook: Take a look at the RTMP Push template available from the MediaLive Console when you create a new channel. Channel and Input Details - Channel template - RTMP Push. One of the output groups in this template is for Facebook. You can delete the other output groups and use this as a template to create a new channel.

For al others, that find themselves on this post, after searching the rest of the internet why the Facebook Live stream will not start, I've found my answer:

After the idea of @fxeataws I started a new Channel with that Facebook template, but still no stream came live. Then I, for me randomly, changed the URL of the output to:
URL:
rtmps://live-api.facebook.com:443/rtmp/
Stream Name:
12345?s_bl=1&s_sc=12345&s_sw=0&s_vt=api-s

So, the Facebook Live "Streaming Key" is what you put in the Channel output "Stream name".

Hope this helps others with the same problem as me.
