Geo Map in AWS QuickSight

Geospatial charts in Amazon QuickSight are not supported in some AWS Regions, including China. If you were able to use geo maps previously but can no longer find this functionality, it's possible that your QuickSight account region has changed or there might be other issues with your geospatial data.

Amazon QuickSight offers several types of geospatial visualizations:

• Point maps
• Filled maps
• Layer maps (which allow custom shape layers using GeoJSON files)

For geospatial charts to work properly, your data must include at least the country information. If QuickSight can't geocode your location data, the places won't show up on your map.

Unfortunately, there isn't a comprehensive published list of all countries or districts where geospatial functionality is prohibited. The documentation only explicitly mentions that geospatial charts aren't supported in some AWS Regions, including China.
