In general time to restore from a recovery point using AWS Backup depends on the size of the data and type of resource being restored. As each restore differs based on the resource type and size of data being restored a time frame cannot be estimated. Since only the first backup is full and rest are incremental backup, restore operations generally take longer than the corresponding backup.
For EFS restoration you can expect the following backup rates with AWS Backup:
- 100 MB/s for file systems composed of mostly large files.
- 500 files/s for file systems composed of mostly small files.
- The maximum duration for a backup operation in AWS Backup is seven days.
